How to Get There

For directions go to Mapquest and type in the postcode of the zoo.

Train:
Great value train travel and Zoo entry available. Train service available from Bristol Temple Meads station. Take bus 8, 8A or 9 from Bristol Temple Meads station to the main Zoo entrance. Price of a special train ticket includes Zoo entry and bus fare from the station. Rail fare depends on departure station. Call the National Rail Enquiries on: 0845 748 4950.
Coach:
Great value bus travel and Zoo entry with a Zoo Safari ticket on any First bus in Bristol. Services 8, 8A and 9 run frequently between Bristol Temple Meads station, the city centre and Bristol Zoo Gardens. Call the Traveline on: 0870 608 2608 for further details. Special Zoo offer also available on City Sightseeing Bristol which runs hourly between 21st March and 25th September

This zoo is not as big in area as some of the other well known UK zoos but it is one of the oldest and well respected. It was made famous by the childrens TV programme Animal Magic and its well known presenter the late Johnny Morris in the 1970's.

Voted ‘Zoo of the year 2004’ by the Good Britain Guide, Bristol Zoo Gardens has something for everyone from the smallest and rarest tortoise in the world, to the largest ape. With over 400 exotic and endangered species to explore, enjoy a whole day filled with excitement and discovery at Bristol Zoo Gardens

Why not take a trip to see to our Livingstone’s fruit bats and Asiatic lions who both have newly improved enclosures this year?
